August 2011
August 7 – "There is no way to happiness; happiness
is the Way"
"There is no way to happiness; happiness is the way. There is no way to
peace; peace is the way. There is no way to enlightenment; enlightenment is the
way." That quote from Thich Nhat Hanh sums up how to use the Science of Mind. It
is our state of mind, or consciousness that creates our experience. The way we
think and feel determines the lens through which we perceive life. If we want to
see a change in our lives we must become that change. Making the result we
desire our daily practice ensures our success.
August 14 – Alive in Spirit
Who are you? Are you a body, with a collection of memories and impressions?
Or are you the consciousness that has a body and experiences? This Sunday we
explore the essential wholeness inside the paradox of duality.
August 21 – Dying Daily or How to Live a Perfect Life
Recently, a list has circulated over the internet on the five most common
regrets that people express while dying. Movies like The Bucket List remind us
to fulfill our desires while we can. Surprisingly, the things people regret most
are not the things on a bucket list, but rather the most simple and powerful
gifts of human life. This Sunday we will explore how to live our lives without
regret.
August 28 – Community Rocks!
We are part of one human family. Each of us lives within many circles of
human community. This Sunday we will celebrate our connections and explore ways
to serve humanity. One of the great blessings of growing up, or becoming free of
drama in our lives, is having the energy to give back to others.
