December 2010 – A Season of Light
As the winter deepens around us we are reminded of the great mythic stories
regarding the light hidden in the dark. Many cultural traditions have created
stories about this time of year; stories of miraculous light
appearing, or of the birth of a divine human.
As we settle into the winter solstice season we open to the wisdom in our
human traditions, and allow that Presence of Light to inform our soul. Reminding
us of the story of transformation in every great spiritual tradition—how out of
the humble and unremarked beginning a great awakening occurs.
December 5 – "The Wisdom of
Winter"
As Advent begins, and Hanukah too, we explore the wisdom of resting in Truth,
trusting the miraculous power
of Spirit and allowing the light within us to guide our journey.
December 12 – "The Gift Within"
No holiday season is complete without gifts! But what is the treasure we
possess within? All that we seek, hope for and long to fulfill, is already
within us as the miraculous presence of God.
December 19 – "A Metaphysical Interpretation of Christmas"
The entire Christmas story is packed with meaningful symbols expressing the
transformation of human consciousness. Today we will explore each symbol and how
it relates to our own spiritual journey.
December 26 – "The Burning Bowl"
This Sunday is the last of 2010 and we will have a special burning bowl
ceremony during the service. Come prepared to let go of whatever no longer
serves you as we open to a new year.
