September 2011
September 4 – A Labor of Love
Discovering our life’s work or purpose and making a living at doing it is a
rare experience in this world. Great teachers and mystics have reminded us that
every work, every effort can be a fulfillment of our soul when it is done with
love. This week we will explore how to deepen in our spiritual practice through
loving our work.
September 11 – Self Help
This week we celebrate the Fall term of Science of Mind classes, by
recognizing those who have taken classes in the last year. As we honor our
community for developing their spiritual practice we also encourage ourselves to
return to our practice with renewed energy.
September 18 – To the Lighthouse
This year has been the year of visioning for the Center for Spiritual Living
Olympia. In June, after six months of a visioning team working on defining the
vision for CSL Olympia, we met in a community visioning. A persistent theme
emerged of our Center as a beacon of light. Many saw us as a
lighthouse, or a house of light, beaming out to the world. Today we explore ways
that we can live from a lighthouse state of consciousness.
September 25 – Adventures in Spiritual Living
The world is shifting all around us. Many of the institutions we believed
were a solid part of our future are undergoing radical changes. Earthquakes,
tsunamis, famine and war are also current events we read or hear about on the
news.
Our task is to find the faith to live a spiritual life in the midst of outer
turmoil. Today we recognize the adventure in living that each of us is having,
and how our ability to remain positive is of real value to the world.
